How would you celebrate the 100th birthday of a paragon even in the grave, well for Lamborghini has its own way with Lamborghini Centenero. Ferrocio Lamborghini, Lamborghini’s founder who was born a farm boy with great interest in farm machinery became a tractor mechanic then tractor manufacturer and later owned his exotic car company. The life of Ferrocio Lamborghini is an interesting one from his birth to the end.
Lamborghini Centenero is just that perfect car to celebrate its founder, the supercar has new technologies not seen in other Lamborghinis. First unveiled in 2006 at the Geneva motor show with the Lamborghini Centenero coupe and in August 2006 at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, Lamborghini Centenero roadster was unveiled. Only 40 units were produced, 20 coupes and 20 roadsters at $1.92 million each. Lamborghin Centenero is equipped with 6.5L V12 engine mated with 7-speed ISR automated manual gearbox blistering 770hp with top speed of 217mph. The Centenero goes from 0-62 mph in 2.8 seconds and 0-186 mph in 23.5 seconds.
Its just so obvious that when a coupe is produced, a roadster should be expected to be on the way, and it sure was done with the Centenero. The coupe and roadster have the same performance, as the roadster is without it’s roof weighs lesser than the coupe. Lamborghini Centenero is based on Lamborghini Aventador, sharing its carbon-fibre monocoque, with its aluminum front and rear subframes.
Lamborghini Centenero is the first Lamborghini with rear wheel steering and the largest rear diffuser in a car and equipped with a new infotainment system of 10.1 inch portrait screen. The raging bull is with a three exhaust like a spaceship. Lamborghini Centenero had three driving modes: strada for cruising when lots of cars are in place; sports for high performance ready to unleash the bull, and Corsa mode unleashing it’s performance for track use.
