First of Renault EZ Trilogy: Renault EZ-GO

I definitely have no idea how Renault were able to come up with “EZ” but pronouncing it sounds “EASY,” right? Renault EZ-GO ultimately is a concept car that was introduced in 2018 Geneva Motor Show that definitely had heads turning and people walking towards its stand.

Renault EZ-GO is an all electric autonomous taxi, what Renault calls the robo-taxi. Back then self driving cars were concept difficult to comprehend due to dangers that are glaring. Allowing a piece of contraption take you where you want to go without being in control. I wouldn’t accept the idea of riding in an autonomous car but right now compared to earlier times it sounds fun and with a name like Tesla including automous driving functions with steering in its cars.

The electric self-driving taxi opens in the front with a descending platform that has splash puddle lightning to indicate where the platform is coming out from. Passengers walk into steeringless taxi that accommodates six passengers to it’s “cocoon-like styling” in a U-shaped seat. Unlike Renault EZ-Ultimo, Renault EZ-GO has no privacy, just to drop passengers at point B from point A.

Using level 4 autonomy, Renault EZ-GO can manage its distance from the vehicle in front, stay in lane, change lanes and turn all by itself at a junction.

Renault EZ-GO is powered by an electric motor on the rear axle reaching maximum speed of 31mph (50km/h), utilizing rear wheel steering to maneuver tight corners. The concept of the French automous taxi is inspired by Ney York City and London taxis. It can be operated by private or public companies, and is envisioned to be available through a mobile application or permanent stations.
